Forged in Fire (2nd edition)

For three hundred years, Harlan Edgewood’s monthly shifts have been agonizing. Then he meets Whimsy Hickes—a mage who specializes in transformation—and the attraction is both immediate and mutual. But Harlan takes refuge in denial, believing his curse is too great a burden to inflict on any lover.

But Whimsy knows he can help.

When Harlan is provoked into an unexpected transformation, Whimsy uses his magic to ease Harlan’s pain, but with an unexpected consequence. While he’s shifted, Harlan’s wolf recognizes Whimsy as his mate.

It will take all of Whimsy’s magic to drive back the rising evil—and if he fails, Harlan will lose not only his life, but his very soul.

Quenched in Blood (2nd edition)

Vampire Julian Schaden warned the Asheville Paranormal Council of an impending demonic incursion for decades. Over the past two years, he and his friends have fought hard with little help because Micah Carter, the demon hunter who should have led them, abandoned his responsibilities long before his death.

In desperation, Julian visits the Carter property and finds a miracle: Thomas Carter, heir to a long line of demon hunters. Thomas knows nothing about the supernatural world, but the prospect of a real life outside the sheltered, isolated farm calls to him, and the idea of fighting the Unholy feels right.

Thomas is too young and innocent for Julian, but opposites attract, and this is one battle Julian seems fated to lose. But a prophecy from a dying mage comes with a bleak warning: the upcoming battle will claim Thomas’s life. To keep the world safe, Julian may have to sacrifice the only love he’s ever known.

Stop Dragon My Heart Around

Sometimes Fate has a bizarre sense of humor.

Or at least it seems that way to Gus, owner of the Rainbow Room, Asheville’s main hangout for gay paranormals. He’s seen Fate catch up with the patrons of his bar while he served drinks and listened to their stories for three hundred years. He found all of it amusing, until his fated mate walks in and suddenly the twists aren’t so funny any longer!

Bear Hickes is a mage who specializes in fire, but life has lost its spark since his twin brother got married and left him alone. His older brother, Whimsy, is determined to help Bear find happiness no matter how much Bear objects, but meeting Gus gives Bear a wonderful idea: if Gus will pretend to be his boyfriend, Whimsy will get off his case. And somewhere along the line, Bear finds he wants it to be for real.

But there are secrets Gus is keeping from not just Bear, but the whole world. And when those secrets catch up with him at last, the danger won’t be just for Gus alone.

This story is set in the Asheville Arcana universe, but can be read as a standalone.

Stop Dragon My Heart Around is part of the multi-author Magic Emporium Series. Each book stands alone, but each one features an appearance by Marden’s Magic Emporium, a shop that can appear anywhere, but only once and only when someone’s in dire need. This book contains explicit scenes, a grumpy mage, a paranoid dragon, a very arrogant vampire and a guaranteed HEA.
