Hi! I’m Rachel Langella, and I’m a freelance editor as well as an author. I have a BA and MA in English and a MFA in Creative Writing (fiction). I’ve taught composition and rhetoric at the university level since 1994, and since 2020, I’ve branched out into teaching creative writing as well. I’m also the primary editor for all but one or two of the Ari McKay and Rachel Langella books.

As a freelance editor, I’m happy to work with you to improve your manuscript beyond the basics of spelling, grammar, and punctuation. If you like, I can also provide feedback on language and style along with story elements such as pacing, character development, and narrative development.

Since my day job requires a lot of work outside the classroom, I need to limit the number of clients I accept for editorial work until I figure out a good balance. Currently, I have two open slots! Rate: 1 cent per word.
Average return times: 
30,000 words or less: 7-10 days
30,000-70,000 words: 10-14 days
70,000+ words: 14-21 days
